Ummmmmmmm, wellllllll.
Not a lot to say regarding the trials and tribulations of my life lately.
Getting used to being single again, which is strange. I'm having good days and bad days. These things take time I guess. To make matters even worse, i'm also going bald and getting old. Brilliant. It never rains, it pours.
To top it all off, my football team are completely useless too. I've started up a new blog to follow them, feel free to have a read and comment as you see fit. I try to comment more on the days out as opposed to the footy titself. It's here: http://adayoftheweek.blogspot.com/
I'll have to try and keep this a bit more updated. Hopefully with more positive tales. One good thing is that i'm booking a flight to Australia tonight (again). For March next year. So i'll have that to look forward to.
Apart from that? Swimming and football tonight will hopefully make me feel a little better.

Jesus christ.
Does this have to happen EVERY year.
So, my girlfriend of over 3 and a half years called me up yesterday and said she's not happy YET again as apparently we don't communicate enough or spend enough quality time together.
This confuses me as we see each other every single weekend (she moved to Edinburgh to study, which i'm totally fine with). But she must realise of course you have to work on things when she is in a different place, it's not always going to be rosy.
Shit WILL get complicated and stressed, but it's about dealing with that when it does get too much. We all communicate effectively through different ways... not ALWAYS talking. To say i'm a upset is a bit of an understatement :(
I just want to curl up and die. I'm not built for this emotional grinder and just want to be happy (with her). I just hope it can be worked out.... but it's not looking too rosy. |

Haven't updated this for a while!
How is everyone?
Not much happening, getting older, losing hair (not for a while yet though), knees getting creaky.
Still, not all bad. Got offered a new job yesterday, so my current dilemma is whether to accept it or not. Trying to resolve my current contract situation here at the university, so maybe this will give them a kick up the arse. Who knows.
Off to think in a dark room.

...cobbers..... so I made it to Sydney finally. What a fucking struggle though. Got to glasgow.... flight was delayed..... bastard....here we go I thought. But no, flight to Dubai wasn't too bad. Was meant to have a free hotel there, but because my flight was so late there wasn't much point going. So instead, I settled for a nice hard floor in the airport (couldn't sleep though... and had a banging sore head (going well so far).
Next flight was 13 hours to sydney.... stone the crows! i was ruined... but could hardly sleep again, watched about 10 movies, am now sick of movies and tv, burn i tell you, burn.
So made it to Sydney at 6am... yes, that's 6 fucking am. So another day of no rest for the wicked. On the plus side, my luggage actually turned up for once (small mercies). And i hopped on the train to get to my hostel.
Dumped my bags off, met my brother and, yes, you guessed it... went to the pub! for 10am! Several beers later was a bit pished (i'm blaming my lack of sleep, so stop smirking at the back). Then went for a shower (my first in 3 days.... mmmmmmm) and headed for more beer then to see transformers (at which point i succumbed to sleep demons and missed most of the film). Good job i'd seen it already.
After that, more beers..... and then bed, or so I had planned. Tried to find the right floor for my room but it wasn't happening. So went throught ot where i thought it was the stairs... alas no, it was emergency stairs, and i got locked intot he stairwell... so had to walk alllllll the way down to the bottom and enter the building again.... eventful.
Today i have spent at the modern art museum and sydney opera house. After this internet sesh i am going for a beer and some food then having an early night (need to catch up on my sleep). Must be getting old.... Will post up more adventures as and when they happen.

Woo, T in the Park tickets go onsale tomorrow (which sadly means I have to get up early to get them booked). DAMNIT! Still, it's a kinda 3 day event this year..... and there are some good bands playing, so it should be a good weekend as usual. www.tinthepark.com for details.
Also, sadly no-one is around for my birthday this weekend, so it looks like i'll be spending it alone. Callum (away on holiday), Steve (away on holiday), Colin (away on holiday), Dave (away on holiday), PJ (away on holiday), Strawbs (away for weekend), Dunc (away offshore), Martin (away offshore), Scott (away offshore), Mike (gay). So it's gonna be a quiet affair! I might just stay in. And buy lots of beer and treats!
We shall see. I am also currently addicted to strawberry beer..... and pool, and curries, and football. Anyway, ho-hum.... back to work. |

..... what's been happening lately with me?
Ummmmm, well quite a lot.
I lost all my hair in a freak smelting accident as you can see. I was lucky though, it could have disfigured me. As it was, a lucky escape. Still, it makes all my bald friends feel better about themselves. I thought I better join the club. Dunno if i'm just visiting or if i'll join full time. Depends what the perks are!
My dad is recovering well from his heart surgery, so i'll hopefully go see my parents this weekend at some point and steal some stuff.
Which brings me to my next point.... it's my birthday on Saturday, and i'll be 2fucking9, yes, it's that all new age (everyones's doing it).... one away from the mighty 3holyshitmylifeisover0. No plans as yet, so it may be a quiet one. Or I could stop being so silly and realise i'll be jager bombing all weekend, peeing in the corner of some room and crying myself to sleep (or is that back into consciousness the next day)?
Finally i'm newly single again as my girlfriend decided i wasn't good enough for her anymore and embarked on a period of self enlightenment. It's a pity, as I really liked her and thought she was my paramore (current favourite word). Is it true that all girls are in reality insane? Or should I go gay for a while? It might work out, although i'm not fond of bums and men don't have great boobs......

Just home from Australia.
Pics soon.
Was there for a month.
Went well, did lots, except i got an ear infection, and my luggage got lost on the way out and the way home!
And worst of all, my dad had a heart attack and had to have a quadruple heart bypass :( Terrible... so that kinda put a dampner on the whole trip. He'll be there for another 6 weeks recovering. He got diagnosed with asthma 4 years ago and it turns out this was wrong and it was angina.... so the doctor has made a BIG FUCK UP.
Now I have to go get checked out, blood tests ahoy for me next week.
Can't wait. |

Yawn. Tired. Been back to work for a month or so now.
Still enjoying it.
Finally ordered broadband today for the flat. About bloody time, so we'll see how useful it is! Get free phonecalls too.
Also just booked a trip to Australia for the christmas period.
Can't wait. Then next year will be all about saving. Sadly.
I really have nothing to say. Except that prison break is my current favourite tv. Better than LOST (until season 3 of LOST starts next month). |

So I handed my notice in to my work yesterday, it's new job time.
I've been here almost 6 years, and I felt it was time for a change. No prospects to develop myself any further here, no payrises that were promised. NO GOOD in my eyes.
So anyway, it's taken me over a year to get a job and i'm off ot work for Aberdeen University doing e-learning software development! So it sounds like fun and I hope it is.
Always scary starting a new job and giving up the safety blanket so to speak but I hope it works out well and i'm looking forward to it!
In other news i've booked my summer holiday to Toronto for 3 weeks in August. Also going on a short break to Barcelona next month, so that should be fun too. SO SKINT now, need to save save save................... |
